PPA PROJECT STREAM
In the Lehigh Valley, the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) Project Stream is a grant opportunity drawing nearly 50 submissions every year.
The PPA Project Stream is a statewide arts grant opportunity. Through a partnership with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Lehigh Valley Arts Council administers the program in Carbon, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties.
Designed as an annual opportunity, applicants may apply to the PPA Project Stream for a grant up to $2,500 to help them produce an innovative, community-based arts activity. Reaching underserved communities is a major goal of the grant opportunity. Only third year grant recipients are required to match a grant award.
Who can apply?
Individuals, community groups, and nonprofit organizations. You do not need to be a 501c3 organization to apply. Also, this is not a fellowship grant or designed to solely promote any individual artist’s work.
33 Project Stream grants were awarded last year.
MAY – The Arts Council holds 3-4 grant writing workshops, free to attend, designed to help prepare people interested in making application. Aspiring applicants are highly encouraged to attend one of these workshops. Please check our homepage for the scheduled workshops.
JUNE – Grant application is due on June 20th.
AUGUST – Community panel reviews and scores all applications.
OCTOBER – An awards reception (affectionately known as ArtsCOUNT) is held for the year’s grantees.
