Development, Community Partnerships, and Marketing Manager

Job Description

Lehigh Valley Arts Council (LVAC) position of Development, Community Partnerships, and Marketing Manager promotes and supports the LVAC mission by managing the overall organizational brand, building upon and creatively executing our marketing plan, managing the membership program and donor relations, while helping build community partnerships and value.

The position reports to the LVAC Managing Director and will work closely with the LVAC Advancement and Marketing Sub-Committees and Board of Directors on the planning and facilitation of programs and initiatives. Much of the focus is on building and cultivating relationships with stakeholders in the arts and culture community and providing support and resources to all LVAC programs.

Overall Responsibilities

Manages digital media communications, including social media, e-mail campaigns, and website and online calendar updates via a multi-pronged strategic marketing plan;
Implements the membership renewal/retention process, new member communications, and member services, including but not limited to: correspondence, appeal letters, member benefit package, annual membership connection event, and member database and CRM system;
Implements marketing and member service mailings that include, but are not limited to, Inside the Arts newsletter, special events, professional development/conferences, and annual appeal;
Works with the Managing Director and relevant Board members to implement strategies to strengthen relationships with key constituencies;
Support the Arts & Accessibility Always Program Manager on projects and initiatives designed to increase accessibility to the arts;
Attend monthly meetings with the Advancement and Marketing Sub-Committees of the Board;
Prepare any physical and digital marketing materials for all LVAC programming and activities;
Establish and cultivate relationships with individuals and organizations in the arts and cultural community;
Share additional opportunities and services to individuals and organizations as an ambassador of furthering the mission of LVAC; and,
Report on a weekly/monthly basis to LVAC Managing Director, colleagues, Advancement and Marketing Sub-committee and Board of Directors.

* Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
* 3-5 years’ experience in arts and culture activities or non-profit organizations. Customer service experience is a bonus
* Extensive professional experience and knowledge of social media platforms
* Ability to solve problems and work independently
* Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
* High level of verbal and written communication skills


Development, Community Partnerships, and Marketing Manager is a part-time, contracted position with compensation based on agreed upon monthly commitment and performance. This position is currently remote but requires availability for in-person events in the Lehigh Valley.

Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites is looking for part-time staff for the “Docents on Main Street Program” in Bethlehem. The docent must feel comfortable wearing 18th century period-appropriate clothing, enjoy speaking to the public, able to work independently, and provide an exceptional level of customer service. The docent will be outdoors almost the entire time in all types of weather. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and welcoming diverse visitors to the downtown historic and shopping district
  • Sharing information about downtown activities, museums, shops and restaurants
  • Giving directions
  • Answering questions

The base of operations for this program is the Historic Bethlehem Visitor Center located at 505 Main Street. The program will run daily from 11-4 and extended hours on weekends, during the summer and for events. Must be 18 or older to apply. This is a paid part-time hourly position. Flexible hours and schedules are available.
