A Celebration of Art and Travel: Winners & Favorites
The Lehigh Valley Arts Council and Discover Lehigh Valley have teamed up this holiday season to present an exhibition of fine art photography by Jacqueline Lewis. Titled “A Celebration of Arts and Travel,” the exhibition features nearly fifty images capturing the wonder of Lewis’ travels to both exotic destinations and to cherished sites in the Lehigh Valley.

Several award-winning images and a few of her favorites are among the photographs for sale. Most notable are seven photographs recently selected for permanent display on the 18th floor of new, 40-story, Gensler-designed PNC Bank Tower in Pittsburgh.
The exhibition runs November through December at the Arts Council’s office and across the hall at Discover Lehigh Valley in the Butz Corporate Center, 840 Hamilton Street, in Allentown. Proceeds from the commission on all sales will support Arts & Access, the program to expand cultural accessibility for people with disabilities.
Artist’s STATEMENT
Photography has been a lifelong passion and preoccupation. Every time I hold a camera, I feel a great sense of responsibility to capture and preserve a great moment on earth. My interest is to convey to the viewer a sense of involvement, excitement, and participation in the image. Throughout, my objective is to use vivid color saturation.
As a fine art photographer, black and white as well as color global travel and architectural photography are my specialties. For select images, I apply a prize-winning “impressionistic” digital photographic technique. The result conveys a softer, romantic feeling, which many insist are watercolors or some application of paint. I also enjoy producing abstracts.
My degree in Economics from Muhlenberg College was coupled with fine arts and advanced photography courses. A professional career of over 25 years includes director, corporate communications at Mack Trucks, Inc. World Headquarters; Lewis Communications, my consulting firm; founder, Executive Appointments Ltd.; director, marketing, Eastern PA Business Journal. For ten years, I lectured in business communications at Lehigh University and management at Cedar Crest College.
Marketing my photography began in 2006 when I introduced myself to digital photography and related computer technology. My products for business and residential clients include prints on paper, canvas, acrylic, and metal.
