The Power of Story

The Power of Story

be a voice for the arts

Contribute to our storytelling campaign by sharing a moment when the arts touched your life. We’re building an online library on the impact of the arts and need testimonials to illuminate the value of the arts. Your story, no matter how big or small, provides evidence that the arts are essential.

The arts bring us together and tell the stories of who we are as people – now and in the future.

Testimonials from all community members, artist or not, are equally valuable, and we encourage you to add your voice to this online library. Support for the arts will be strengthened by this public collection, which becomes data that goes beyond numbers and seeks to move hearts and minds. #BeAVoiceForTheArts

Voices Traveling
  • To expand the reach of The Power of Story, we have included various stories at each of our public events since the initiative began in the summer of 2017.
  • During the summer of 2019, through a partnership with WDIY 88.1 FM public radio, the reach of these stories grew by having them play on the local airwaves.
Story Types

Storytelling can be captured in many ways. Consider sharing a personal reflection through written narrative, spoken word, poetry, illustration, cartoon, dance, song or any medium that you prefer.

Audible Storytelling – We’ve evolved the library by offering opportunities to have submitted stories recorded audibly. Stories that can be listened to include (+ audio) at the end of their excerpt.
